Electric vehicles to come in 2023 at Mercedes-Benz

A few years ago, Mercedes-Benz launched its EQ division dedicated to electrification. It didn't take long for concepts to appear, and then a first model with the EQS sedan.

The latter is already on our roads.

For 2023, more products will be added to the family, so you'll have even more choices when selecting your next electric vehicle. Let's take a look at what's coming up.

EQB

One of the brand's most popular models, the GLB SUV, will see an electric version show up with the EQB. The proportions and styling are very similar, so recognition will be easy.

Two versions will be offered, the EQB 300 and EQB 350. The first will offer 225 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque. The second will offer 288 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. Both models will benefit from a 66.5 kWh battery and will offer a very respectable range of around 350 km. Official figures have not yet been released.

Interestingly, the EQB SUV will offer a configuration that allows for a third row in the back, for a total of seven seats. This only adds to its great versatility.

EQE

The EQE sedan will offer a zero-emission alternative to the E-Class sedan. It takes the same dimensions, but thanks to its electric configuration, it will offer a more spacious interior. It will also benefit from the Hyperscreen, that spectacular 56-inch screen that covers the entire dashboard.

This model is going to take advantage of a 90 kWh battery, all for 288 horsepower and 417 pound-feet.

The MBUX system, facial recognition, ambient lighting with 64 colors, a Burmester audio system, nothing will be missing from this model.

For now, these are the two models announced on the Mercedes-Benz Canada website. Others will quickly follow, as utility versions will follow for the EQS and EQE models. We'll just talk about the EQS SUV and EQE SUV.

And that's nothing. In 2025, Mercedes-Benz plans to introduce three separate platforms dedicated to electric vehicles; one for regular vehicles, one for AMG performance models, as well as another for the brand's vans.

No doubt, Mercedes-Benz will soon be a leader in electrification.
