2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. 2023 BMW 3-Series: mission accomplished

For decades, enthusiasts have wondered which car was more interesting between the Mercedes-Benz C-Class or the BMW 3-Series. The truth is, each had its qualities, but the driving pleasure went to the 3 Series.

Today, the gap has been closed on that front, but BMW hasn't managed to bring the rest of its model up to Mercedes-Benz standards. As a result, the compact car with the silver star is now one step ahead of its rival.

Mercedes-Benz can claim "mission accomplished". Here's some evidence to prove it.

The style

Throughout history, both companies have always offered very assertive styles. For a long time, the more aggressive image of a 3 Series overshadowed the more classic C-Class. Those days are over.

In fact, the 3-Series has evolved, but it's still pretty much where it was. With the C-Class and the AMG visual treatment that decorates our models, the approach is more aggressive, yet still tinged with great class.

And over time, if there's one logo that has stood the test of time on the vehicle it adorns, it's the Mercedes-Benz logo. The image of luxury remains stronger here.

More efficient engines at all levels

BMW is still offering 6-cylinder engines with the 3 Series. Mercedes-Benz decided that enough was enough and that they needed to be more responsible. Thus, there is only a 2-liter turbo 4-cylinder throughout the family. And, as a matter of fact, we don't have to compromise on power. In fact, we offer even more. The example of the latest variant to arrive, the C63 AMG, is incredible in this regard. Thanks to the addition of an electric motor at the rear, it will offer a whopping 660 horsepower, 150 more than a BMW M3.

What more can be said about efficiency?

MBUX

The letters MBUX refer to the multimedia system put forward by Mercedes-Benz (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). This is the most complete system in the industry. Its voice recognition function is magical, the personal assistant is on the ball and in terms of graphic quality, the screens offered on board are the clearest and prettiest in the entire automotive world.

One try and you'll be convinced. It's not that BMW doesn't suggest an interesting interface, it's just that Mercedes-Benz's interface has no equal.

That's why we can say "mission accomplished" in the case of the C-Class; it has no complexes anymore.
